Sephiria Tablets: How Tablet Placement, Adjacency, and Board Planning Work

Tablets are the placement layer of Sephiria. A Sephiria Tablet enhances neighboring Artifacts according to its in-game direction and tooltip, so the correct placement is the one that improves the Artifact your run already depends on. The Steam store describes the inventory system as collecting and arranging Artifacts, then empowering them with different Tablets. That makes a Tablet more than another reward: its value depends on the cells around it and on the Artifact effects it is meant to improve.
What Tablets Do
A Tablet enhances one or more neighboring Artifacts according to the relationship shown by its in-game tooltip. The exact direction and strength belong to the current game version. When a Tablet appears, read the arrows or adjacency wording in the UI rather than relying on a remembered layout.
The basic loop is:
- Choose the Artifact effect that matters to the run.
- Leave enough cells to place a Tablet beside it.
- Check the Tablet's direction and affected neighbors.
- Move the smallest number of items needed to activate the relationship.
- Recheck the result after a new Artifact or weapon upgrade changes the board.
Board Planning Rules
Preserve Flexible Space
Do not fill every cell as soon as it becomes available. Open cells give you room to rotate or shift a Tablet when the next reward is better than the current one. This is especially important for a board that is still deciding between physical, elemental, magic, or companion damage.
Build Around a Repeatable Effect
Use one clear sentence to describe the board, such as "this Tablet strengthens the defensive Artifact beside the weapon core." If you cannot explain why two items are adjacent, the arrangement is probably spending space without a reliable payoff.
Protect the Core Relationship
When a new reward arrives, compare its immediate value with the value of breaking an active adjacency. A small upgrade is rarely worth dismantling a reliable defensive or damage cluster before a boss room.
Tablets and Artifact Tags

- Reading a Tablet's name but ignoring its directional rule.
- Breaking a working adjacency for a single unverified upgrade.
- Treating a Tablet as valuable without checking whether it has an eligible neighbor.
- Rebuilding the board during a dangerous room instead of waiting for a safe transition.
How to Practice Placement
Use early rooms to test one relationship at a time. Place the Tablet, trigger the relevant Artifact effect, and compare the result in the inventory or combat feedback.
