Sephiria Relic Tier List: Best Relics and Rankings

A practical Sephiria relic tier list covering universal picks, build-defining relics, conditional items, and how to rank relics for each run.

This Sephiria relic tier list ranks relic value by how reliably an item improves a run, not by a universal damage number. A relic that is excellent for a Grimoire, Companion, or Planet build can be only average in a different loadout.

Quick Tier List

TierPractical meaningTypical picks or use case
SStrong across many runs or defines a reliable buildexperience or economy scaling, a complete combo core, or a relic that solves the run's main weakness
AHigh value when the build can activate itstrong elemental, Companion, Grimoire, defense, or critical synergies
BUseful but replaceablegood single-stat upgrades and items that need a specific weapon or board position
CMostly situationaleffects that are weak before their condition is met or compete with a more reliable core

This is a decision guide rather than a permanent best-in-slot list. Recheck the live tooltip and patch notes when an update changes a relic, combo tag, or drop pool.

S-Tier Relic Qualities

The most valuable relics usually do at least one of these things:

  • Improve the whole run instead of only one attack.
  • Start or complete a combo that the current weapon can actually use.
  • Fix a survival problem without removing the build's damage engine.
  • Scale with a stat the run is already collecting, such as attack speed, defense, MP, or companion damage.
  • Provide value early enough to change the rest of the reward decisions.

Universal economy and experience relics can be S-tier early in a run because they increase future options. A high-damage relic that arrives after the run's core is already complete may be less valuable than its tooltip suggests.

Build-Specific Rankings

Grimoire and Magic

Prioritize Academy-related relics, Grimoire damage, cooldown or haste, and enough MP to keep the active rotation available. The Grimoire build explains the core route; do not rank a magic relic highly if the current run cannot support its MP cost.

Companion

Colleague-tag relics, companion damage, respawn speed, and extra survivability rise in value together. One strong summon relic is not enough if the board cannot keep companions alive or if the weapon cannot cover a boss phase. Compare the Companion Build before sacrificing a defensive slot.

Elemental and Critical

Precision becomes more valuable when the run can repeatedly trigger critical hits. Ember, Glacier, Dark Cloud, or another elemental combo should be ranked by its completed threshold, not by the first item picked. Avoid mixing several half-built tags unless the reward pool gives no coherent alternative.

Defense and Hard Mode

Guardian, defense, block, evasion, and recovery effects move up the list in Hard Mode. A slower clear that survives every room is usually better than a glass-cannon relic that only works when the run has perfect drops.

How to Rank a Relic During a Run

  1. Check whether its own effect is active at the current level.
  2. Check the space, Tablet adjacency, and combo tags it requires.
  3. Compare its immediate value with the next likely reward, not with an ideal late-game build.
  4. Keep the item if it improves the main plan or fixes a clear weakness.
  5. Use the inventory grid guide before moving a relic that supports several neighboring effects.

Tier List Warnings

Do not treat a community tier list as a patch-proof ranking. Relic pools, upgrade wording, and combo effects can change. The general Sephiria Relics guide covers acquisition, grades, constraints, and known evidence gaps.
